With sport as is with life, you should always act like you have been there before, especially in the end zone.  Remember that in a game of HORSE , sometimes a simple free throw will get ‘em.  No matter what anyone ever says there will never be another Jordan.  Likewise, no matter what anyone ever says the “Pros” aren’t anywhere resembling of real men as some might put emphasis on.  There are some whom set good examples, but most are not worth the luster that the majority of society lavishes them with.  Lastly, son(s), never tell your old man that he has lost a step.  Because he hasn’t.

After going through photos online, I was deadset on the idea that if there was one thing to see in Rio, it was Rio from above. So for months the plan was to spend my eight hour layover getting up to Sugarloaf for this view. But when we landed and made our way to Ipanema to drop luggage off at my parents’ hotel (their layover was three days), I reconsidered. Weather was perfect, waves were rolling.. why get back in car when we could take our time at the beach, walk the city and grab a sit-down dinner?
Turns out the view at sea level is just as good.

Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, enjoy the air and behold the view. Climb it so you can see the world, not so the world can see you.

We don’t have the bike culture of Portland, we have the skiing but way more ski traffic than Salt Lake City, we don’t have the music culture (or culture) of Seattle, our mountains are choss piles compared to the Cascades and the Sierras, we’re not Boulder, Aspen, Moab, Jackson, Bishop, Boise, Bozeman, Missoula, Flagstaff, Santa Fe, Hood River, or any of those places, but damn.
